Below is a quick list of some Best Practices when using ManyCam to screen share during streams. (This is from using product with other partners and through internal testing. Your mileage will vary so please test your best setting before your first stream.)

The free ManyCam version is watermarked and locked at 720p and below. This is ok in a pinch.

  1. Use the same resolution in the game or application as ManyCam is set to stream at. (In most cases we recommend 1920x1080) Matching resolutions will reduce frame loss and 'hitchyness'. When sharing desktop applications/tools 720p seems to show text the best.
  2. We have seen marked improvement with most applications when using the 'Game' feature rather than screen share. Note: Some games .exe's are not detected by ManyCam so screenshare is unavoidable.
  3. Set the Max FPS to 25. This will reduce packet size and decrease pixilization/fragmentation on the users end. Again you may play with this setting.
  4. Turn off hardware acceleration in Chrome.  (Settings>Advanced>System = Toggle off 'Use hardware acceleration when available.')
